VIRGINIA STATE REQUIREMENT DETAILS FOR REAL ESTATE PRE-LICENSING EDUCATION

Hours Required by the State: 60 hours (salesperson) and 180 hours (broker)

Pre-Licensing Course Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary. Furthermore, The state requires that your final course exam be proctored. You’ll need to schedule an appointment with an online proctor in advance. Upon passing the final course exam you will be asked to sign an affidavit verifying your identity as the student who completed the course and the final course exam.

State Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

Expiration Date of Course: The Pre-Licensing courses expire six (6) months after the date of purchase.Students may also elect to re-enroll for 50% of the current retail price of the course. Extensions or reactivations cannot be granted beyond the six (6) months expiration timeframe.

Certificates: Once your certificate of course completion will become available to download. REAL Uiversity will provide students with an electronic certificate of completion, upon completion of the course. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies. Please refer to your license application to determine if you need to submit your certificate of completion with your license request.

Reporting: Real estate pre-licensing course completions are reported to the exam vendor, PSI. The state requires schools to report course completions within three to five days from the course completion date. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.
